Are you feeling chained up, tied down, held back?

Is it possible, could you be your own worst obstacle?
Pssst...this is called self sabotage...
If you have a goal and at some point start to believe that you can't achieve it, you are not alone. When the going gets tough, this is a very natural reaction. Instead of pushing your Self through the fear and onto the other side of that obstacle, it's easy to make excuses, justify your actions, throw up invisible walls to keep you safely inside your comfort zone -- even if that zone is filled with stress, anxiety and pain.
The devil we know is better than the devil we don't know, supposedly.
Well, I say bbbsstthhthththlllpppsppppffff on that devil!!! (That was me, making a raspberry noise. That was clear, wasn't it?...)
Okay, so now that we've told the devil where to take him Self (that instruction was clear, too, right??), we can take a closer look at YOU.
Are you working on a fitness plan, a relationship, your nutrition, your parenting skills? Or is it your cello skills, your Russian verb declensions, your calligraphy designs, your poetry?
Whatever it is you are yearning to improve, decide RIGHT NOW to eliminate the barriers you've created.
That's right, YOU have created those barriers. No one else. Not the economy. Not your husband. Not even your mother. I know this is tough to swallow, but it is very real and true. Sit with that for a minute.
Okay we are back now. If you find your Self whining something like, "I can't" or "I don't have time," then just STOP. Ask your Self why you want to reach that goal. How will it make you feel? Then ask your Self why you are stopping your Self from going for it.
Have you found your answer yet? Whatever it is, I bet you if you really want it, you will find a way to go for it, whatever it takes.
