Note to Self: Move On

I have decided to write myself a letter.  Here goes: Dear Self,

I've decided that it is high time for you to finish up with your Letting Go projects and move on to the Moving On phase.  That's right, you heard me.  Enough talk.  It's time for action now.

First things first.

The first thing I want you to do is forget about becoming a runner.  Hello, have we met???  You, my dear, are a DANCER.  You know I'm right.  Running, while a noble pursuit for many many people (HI there Consuelo, Nicole and Whitney!) is not and never will be YOUR thing.  Yes, you proved to yourself that you can do it fairly well.  Congratu-effing-lations.

Now, if you REALLY want to get into peak lean form, please move on to something more in line with who you REALLY are.  Hip hop class at the local dance studio, remember that?  Good start.  Or what about yoga?  Even that P90X home training thing makes more sense for you than running.  Try that.  Move. ON.

Last month, you finally removed most of the clutter from your home office.  You organized your closet and filed a bunch of papers.  Now, it's time to find yourself a sensible desk.  That giant hand-me-down farmer's table you've been using for the past couple of years?  Yeah that just doesn't cut it anymore.

It is time to take yourself and your business seriously.  Put that table in the basement where it belongs and use it for doing crafts.  Spend a few bucks on a decent desk with shelves or drawers for bleep's sake.

Third.  And final, for today.  Don't want to overload you with too many instructions all at once. =)

This is a tough one, so maybe you should sit down.

I want you to make a point of finally forgiving those who have hurt you in the past and allow those heavy chains of regret to fall away from your soul.  Stop looking over your shoulder, waiting for the next fire to blaze up.  Stop expecting the worst.  It is high time you realized that your life is now YOUR OWN.  There is no need for you to compromise anymore.  Step into your power and LIVE it.

That is all I have to say to you.  For now.  I fully expect you to heed my suggestions.

With sincere and honest love, Yourself

Well.  That felt GREAT!  We coaches need tough love sometimes, too.  I'm only human, but it's important to walk the talk, right?

How about you?  Have you made the move to let go of something, but not yet made the decision to move on?  What exactly is holding you back?

The sooner you figure this out, the sooner you will be on your way.  And the sooner you will move on to bigger and better things.  Don't believe me?  Just try it.  If it proves challenging, let me know.  I can help.
