Happy 2014! 365daysawesome

I hope you sent last year on its way with a wink and a smile, then ushered in this new chapter with an open heart and mind.

Lots of clutter preceded 2013 on its way out my door! My office closet now radiates order and productivity. Happiness!

Last year, my thoughts collected around the phrase, Love Your Self and wow, did that ever work for me! From glam photos to yoga practice and everything in between, I truly became my own BFF!

This year, I've decided I'm going to Ride the Wild Horses and Let My Creative Spirit Roam Free! Oh yes, I am ready!! Are you??

Yes, it's a New Year. Exciting, right?

So let me ask you: What are you going to do with the next 363 days of your life?

Is your current life working for you? Are you happy with the direction you took in 2013? (If you answered yes to both of these questions, you can stop reading now. See you next week!)

If your current situation does not make you happy, motivate you, inspire you, satisfy you, serve you in some positive way, well then... what are you going to do about that?

You know you have only two choices, right? 1) Stay like that 2) Change things up

You can make a pros and cons list for each option. When you write things out on paper, it's super easy to see where the pros outweigh the cons. That's what we're looking for: Lots of pros!

Once you get a picture of where your pros gather, you can start brainstorming, making plans and setting up action steps towards those plans. This is the exciting part! It's like deciding which crayon to use first! Or which flavor ice cream to try next! Let your Self play. Check what some of the experts (like Danielle LaPorte or Richard Nelson Bolles) have to say to help you decide what color, what flavor. Then, it's time to commit.

Yes. Commit to your plan. Commit to the idea of taking steps every day in the direction of your plan. Commit to letting go of other plans, other situations that have not served you well. Commit to moving forward continuously, even when the going gets rough.

Committing is the tough part. It takes courage to commit and effort to stay true to your course. Trust me, I know all about this first hand.

Less than a decade ago, I had no idea what color, what flavor my life should be. I did not know what I wanted to do or be. I was too busy chasing someone else's dreams (i.e., my ex's!).

Well, as you can imagine, that got me nowhere pretty fast. When I finally reached the end of that dead end path, I had no idea which way to turn next. I wish I had hired a coach to help me! Instead, I ran around in circles for awhile, chasing my own tail. But, after reading a bunch of Self-help books and scribbling pros and cons lists for months on end, I finally arrived at my purpose. (Hint: I'm Coach Pam now ;)

However, finding my purpose was just the first step. I spent some time trying to figure out exactly how to help grow confidence and for what reason. I'm always working on improving my services but I decided to commit to my very specific niche of helping women in business build courage and confidence for public speaking. Since making that commitment, my direction has become crystal clear. My efforts all march towards that mission now. That is where the magic happens!

Once you arrive at your purpose, make your plan and then commit to taking action to achieve your plan consistently, your sweet spot appears, just like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! I didn't believe it my Self until I made it happen. You can make it happen, too.

So let me ask you again: What are you going to do with the next 363 days of your life?
